EDTE 553 – Instructional Methods in Pre K-12 TESOL

Course Description


Knowledge of a wide range of scientifically research based instructional strategies is necessary to instruct English Language Learners (ELL). Teachers must demonstrate proficiency in integrating pedagogy and theory into effective practice. (Garcia, 2003). The course prepares candidates to demonstrate knowledge and use of a broad range of assessments, instructional practices and curriculum materials, including technology, that support effective language and content instruction for English Language Learners (ELL). Coursework prepares educators to implement the Common Core State Standards and meet state and professional standards.
